The inspiration for today's project comes from my own personal experience. I only eat Gluten Free foods. With Valentine's Day coming up, I wanted to create a project that I hope would inspire others to create for their loved ones or friends who also have dietary restrictions (and can't receive chocolate). I may not be able to eat chocolate, but I can eat gluten free muffins and this treat box with a twist would be welcome in my home anytime!!
A "popcorn" style SVG box was cut using the
Silhouette cutting machine. You can use any
file that you own!
Two layers were cut, one from a lightweight printed
paper and one from a white card stock
used to make the box sturdier.
Here comes the twist, this box has a pocket to place a
recipe card for the item inside the box. Simply cut a horizontal slit in one of the printed papers. Once
the slit is created, adhere all four printed pieces to
the four pieces of white card stock. Be sure not to tape the
slitted area to the card stock or you will not
be able to create the pocket.
Type or write up the recipe to the item you are giving away.
Decorate the recipe card and insert in the pocket.
Bake you muffins or whatever fun treat you are
giving to your special someone. Here is the recipe
for the Gluten Free muffins shown above. Note, I did
not add the frosting topping since I thought
these muffins were sweet enough without it.
Line the box with tissue and add muffins!!
