Creating for the kids!

On days like today I can't help but think about how blessed I am.  I spent the day, in February, outside in shorts and a tank top.  It was that beautiful today here on the central coast of California.  I was reminded, though, that there are many, many people who are going through very difficult times.  I knew that when I finished up with my outdoor work, I would go inside a make a card for a hospitalized child.  This card has a home and will be sent to a child at Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center, the February I Feel the Love Project card recipient.

To create this cute digi stamp girl (Annebodil DS), the image was first imported into Photoshop where her face was erased.  Next, the image was printed and cut using the Silhouette Cameo cutting machine.  Last, a new face was added using a stamp from the Peachy Keen Everyday Characters Faces set. 

The sentiment was also created and cut using the Silhouette Cameo.  The card stock was embossed using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  A crocheted flower finishes off the card. 

This card is being entered into the Peachy Keen Color/Photo Inspiration challenge.  I see a peaceful, cheerful and warm setting when I look at this picture.  My card was created to cheer up a child in need of some love.  I was inspired by the photo to use similar colors on my card.
