Welcome to my first post as a member of The Scrapbook Queen's Royal Challenge Design Team

I am very excited to share my first post today as a member of The Scrapbook Queen's Royal Challenge Design Team
We are hosting a monthly "printable coloring page" challenge. This challenge will go live on the 30th of each month. Come check out my inspiration on the 30th then head to The Scrapbooking Queen Royal Challenge to obtain the printable and create your own card, layout, or home decor project.  You can also see all the amazing projects by the other design team members.  You will be inspired by these talented designers!

This month, we were asked to create a project using this sweet little pony.  I like to color my images in Photoshop and then ink them to add the extra pop!

You can see here that prior to inking the image, it looks pretty plain.   (I knew that I wanted the pony to face the other way so I flipped it using the Silhoutte Cameo prior to cutting it out).
You can see here that the little pony now has hooves, and an inked tail.  In addition, I like to mix digital images with Cricut cuts to add texture and layers.  This little pony is wearing a cute little hat cut from the Kate's ABCs Cricut cartridge.  She is now ready to be added to my project.
"Hope shines brightest in the darkest moments."
This card was designed to give hope to a young leukemia patient.  Orange is the color of the leukemia awareness ribbons, so in the middle of the hope banner, I thought it would be cool to create an orange ribbon.  The banner was made from burlap and the letters were painted on using a stencil I created using the Silhouette Cameo.  The sentiment was computer generated and cut using the Cameo as well.
Paper flowers finish off the card.  These flowers were cut from the Plantin SchoolBook Cricut cartridge.  Three cuts of different sizes were layered to make each flower.

Now it is time for you to head to The Scrapbooking Queen Royal Challenge and get all the details on how you can enter the challenge.  I look forward to seeing what you create!! You have until April 29th to get your projects in.  One winner will be chosen at random to receive a "Royal" prize package!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Mother/Daughter Challenge

Good morning everyone.  I just love it when Madison comes home to craft with me!  We have so much fun in the craft room.  Yesterday we decided to have our own challenge.  Madison picked the challenge and chose "Yellow and Gray" card.

So, one us us made a birthday card (Birthday Wishes) and the other made a baby card (Congrats).  Do you have a guess as to who made which card?  Well, I actually made the birthday card using only the Cricut, while Madison made the baby card using only the Silhouette Cameo.

This was a fun challenge.  You should try it!  Challenge your crafting buddies at your next craft night/get-together with a color/sketch/theme challenge.  See what fun projects you all come up with.

Thanks for stopping by today.

When someone is on your mind, let them know!

Good Monday morning and welcome to my life for a few minutes!!  I have been busy remodeling our house after a water leak.  I can finally say that life around here is back to normal and I appreciate more than ever the ability to have running water in my house.

I hope this Monday morning finds you healthy and ready to start the week!  I want to start off my day by sharing a card I designed and created to let someone know I am thinking about them.

http://bestieschallenge.blogspot.com/2014/03/besties-challenge-baby-and-kids-cards.html
I have fallen in love with all the digi stamps created by Sherri Baldy at "My Besties" and today's card highlights one of her designs. This week's challenge was to create a card for a baby or child and my card has a home with a little girl who has been on my mind.

This is a shaped card and as you can see it is round.  The Silhouette Cameo was used to create the shape and weld the back and front together to make a card.  The adorable "Bestie" image was colored using Photoshop.

I always like adding a punch of color.  In this case, flowers and a bow were added to complete the card.  This card was intentionally made to brighten someone's day, thus the use of the bright colors.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Besties Challenge - Baby and Kids Cards
My Creative Moments - Anything
Artistic Inspirations - Anything Goes
Pile It On - Pretty Hair
Love to Create Challenge Blog - Bingo (ribbon, blue, flowers)

Thank you for stopping by today.
Have a fabulous week.

I Can Fight Cancer! Supporting Team Maddy

I can't imagine what it would be like to be told your child has cancer.  My thoughts and prayers to all parents who are experiencing (or have experienced) this reality.  The card I made to share today will find its way to Maddy, a beautiful little girl who knows all to well what it is like to face this battle.  I pray that my card will inspire you to create and donate a card as well.  Together we can spread love and support one card at a time. Click HERE for details.

My card was designed around a sketch challenge.  For those of you new to challenges, sketch challenges provide a sketch and crafters are asked to create a project inspired by this sketch.  Below is the sketch that we were asked to work with:

This challenge is being held by the awesome team at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.

 Fight Cancer: I Can

Those of you who have Cricut cutting machines will most likely recognize this adorable critter/bear from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge.  Although it is one of my oldest cartridges, I find that it is still one of my favorites.  To add even more cuteness to the critter, the edges were inked and she was given googly eyes.

The sentiment, as well as the frame for this card, were made using the Silhouette Cameo.  A white paper flower was inked to make the edges orange.

The cancer awareness color for leukemia is orange.  Since Maddy is battling leukemia, orange is a dominate color on this card and the color of the bear's ribbon!  This ribbon was made using the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

FCCB - Sketch Challenge
My Craft Spot- Cute Critters Challenge
My Creative Moments- Anything Goes
DL.ART - Anything Goes Linking Party
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I am looking for followers so please consider following me!!  I would love for you to come back again soon.

When someone steals money from a child, you shower them with love!

https://www.facebook.com/teammaddy

Today I would like to introduce you to Maddy.  This sweet girl is battling leukemia.  If that isn't enough, she now has to deal with the fact that someone stole her donation jar that was sitting on the counter of a local restaurant.  Who would steal money from a child? (Team Maddy February 10th post).

When the I Feel the Love Project read about Maddy, they decided to shower her with cards to brighten her day.  Maddy is the March 2014 I Feel the Love Project card recipient.  To learn more about how you can send Maddy a handcrafted card, please click HERE.  Maddy was most definitely the inspiration behind the card I made today.

The colors of this card came together as a result of the latest Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  I am a big fan of their blog and decided to enter this week's challenge.

I needed an adorable image as a focal point of the card.

I found this Besties digi stamp on another new favorite blog, Besties Challenge.  This digi is called "Messy Jessy."  I loved it the second I saw it and knew I would be making a card for Maddy with her.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  I am really excited that it has a home with Maddy! I will be creating more cards for her as the month goes on.  Remember, if you would like to help spread love and support to this little girl, all you have to do is click HERE and get all the information.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge - Color Challenge #250
Besties Challenge - Anything goes (with a Bestie)
Pile it On - Bold and Bright
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by today.
I will be back soon with another new card!
